LOZNATI
A small village on top of the island, 4 kilometres from the marina of Cres, 5 kilometres from the harbour of Cres.
Here you canexperience the true atmosphere of the old Cres.
The village is known for its antic and early Christian settlement - Lovreški.
Bukaleta Tavern
This traditional family establishment welcomes guests from all over Europe since 1980 when Mrs. Antica Kučica started this family business. Today, the business is run by her sons with the same enthusiasm while insisting on keeping the tradition and quality.
You will be attracted by beautiful surroundings and old fashioned ambience as much as by exquisite traditional meals made of famous lamb of Cres. Apart from excellent cuisine and service, the tavern offers an idyllic oasis of peace and quiet, for many previous guests as well as for those who are still to taste indigenous lamb of Cres that is home reared by the owners themselves.
Every year, we open the business on 1st of April and don't close until the end of October.
Let us list some of our delicious meals:
- traditional Cres lamb baked in bread oven
- barbecued lamb
- breadcrumbed lamb
- semi-soft sheep milk cheese
- homemade dry curd cottage cheese
- homemade gnocchi
- homemade bread
- homemade olive oil
Besides homemade food, we offer homemade brandy (rakija), and homemade Istrian wine, a product of Kabola d.o.o., of which we recommend Teran and Malvasia.
